One
of the
most
beautiful
psalms in
the Bible
is Psalm
23. We
hear this
Psalm
being read
at
funerals
and most
of us
relate
this Psalm
to death.
But if we
really
meditate
on the
Psalm, we
can apply
it to our
daily walk
with the
Lord.
The
first
verse of
Psalm 23
says,
"The
Lord is my
shepherd."
What is a
shepherd?
A keeper
of sheep!
We are
God's
sheep and
He is our
keeper. He
keeps us
close to
Him;
therefore,
"I
shall not
want"
for more.
He is all
I need!
Verse
2 says,
"He
maketh me
to lie
down in
green
pastures;
he leadeth
me beside
the still
waters."
There is
perfect
rest in
Him. He
does not
lead me on
a path of
destruction,
but takes
good care
of me and
brings
rest to my
soul.
"Yea,
though I
walk
through
the valley
of the
shadow of
death, I
will fear
no evil:
for thou
art with
me; thy
rod and
thy staff
they
comfort
me."
No matter
what Satan
does to
try and
destroy
me, I need
not fear
his evil.
Why?
Because
the Lord
is with me
and I am
comforted
by the
fact that
by placing
my trust
in Him and
him alone,
I will not
be led
astray. He
will lead
me into
all paths
of
righteousness
and truth.
"Thou
preparest
a table
before me
in the
presence
of mine
enemies;
thou
anointest
my head
with oil;
my cup
runneth
over."
When the
storms of
life come,
God does
not give
up on us,
but
instead He
is there
to carry
us
through.
He gives
us the
answers we
need and
the
strength
we need to
overcome.
He gives
so much
that
"our
cup
runneth
over!"
The more
Satan
tries to
harm us,
the more
the Lord
gives. His
love for
us is
abundant
and never
ends.
Because we
have
complete
trust in
God we
have a
promise:
"Surely
goodness
and mercy
shall
follow me
all the
days of my
life; and
I will
dwell in
the house
of the
Lord for
ever."
How
about you?
Are you
trusting
Him in
every area
of your
life? Or,
are you
letting
the storms
of life
beat you
down? Why
not
meditate
on this
beautiful
Psalm and
let it
speak to
you? You
can have
perfect
peace and
rest in
the midst
of your
storm. But
you must
place your
complete
faith in
Christ and
what He
did for
you at
Calvary.
Whatever
you are
going
through,
just
remember
Jesus
Christ
bore it
for you on
the cross.
When He
died He
said,
"It
is
finished".
His work
is
complete.
All you
have to do
is place
your faith
in that
finished
work and
you will
soon have
victory
over the
circumstance.
You will
begin to
experience
His
perfect
peace and
find rest
in Him for
your weary
soul. He
is your
shepherd
and He
will take
care of
you. That
is a
promise! |
